The popular lunch-time concert series is back! Valdosta Main Street will host the Brown Bag Lunch Concert Series in downtown from Monday, May 10 through Friday, May 14.
Each day a different band will perform live music from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on the Lowndes County Courthouse lawn. This year’s lineup of bands is:
May 10 – Lowndes High School Jazz Band
May 11 – Woodard Johnson
May 12 – Sundance Jenkins
May 13 – The Groove
May 14 – Skannyardle
The concert series is being held in observance of National Historic Preservation Month, which serves as a showcase for local communities to honor their past and help build their future. On Thursday, May 13, the City of Valdosta will announce the winners of the second annual Preservation Awards at the event, at noon. Four awards will be presented to people or organizations to recognize significant historic preservation projects that contribute to the preservation and enhancement of historic buildings in the local Valdosta Historic District.
The Brown Bag Lunch Concert Series, sponsored by the Central Valdosta Development Authority, Bank of America, the Valdosta-Lowndes County Parks and Recreation Authority and the City of Valdosta, is free and open to the general public. Concert attendees may also purchase lunch and beverages from a variety of downtown restaurant booths on site.
