Public Information Division
The Public Information Officer works with the elected officials and the city department heads to provide accurate and timely information for the citizens and the news media about local government, services, and programs. Traditional communication tools such as press releases, public service announcements, newsletters, brochures, photos and other publications are used to distribute the city message, as well as the government access channel. The office is also charged with administering the city web site and monitoring the city's overall internal and external communication strategy.

The Public Information Division also includes the City of Valdosta's Government Access Channel 17, which provides citizens of Valdosta with direct, non-editorial information concerning local government deliberations, services, programs and activities.
