City Clerks

The City Clerk’s office provides information pertaining to Ordinances, Resolutions, City Council Agendas and Minutes, Municipal Code, Elections, Open Records, Authorities, Boards, Commissions, and Advisory Committees, official custodian of the City seal to be affixed to legal documents upon request, and provide notary public services for City legal requirements, contracts, and agreements.  To contact the City Clerk’s office, call (229) 259-3500.

Teresa Bolden has been working in municipal government since 2002.  After completing intensive course instruction and testing, Teresa attained the Certified Municipal Clerk certification through the University of Georgia Carl Vinson Institute of Government in 2005. 

Teresa has been a member of the International Institute of Municipal Clerks and the Georgia Municipal Clerks and Finance Officers Association since 2002.  She currently serves as the District 11 Board member for the Georgia Municipal Clerks. Teresa attended Georgia Southwestern College in Americus, Georgia where she obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Education.

Shirley Britt has spent the majority of her professional career working in city and state government and brings to the City of Valdosta over ten years of experience in government.  She is currently enrolled in the University Of Georgia Carl Vinson Institute of Government’s curriculum for Certified Municipal Clerks.  This curriculum consists of over 100 hours of mandated training and testing.

Shirley is a member of the Georgia Municipal Clerks and Finance Officers Association and currently serves as Chairman of the Education Committee for the Georgia Municipal Clerks.  Shirley attended Northeast Louisiana State University in Monroe, Louisiana.
