Neighborhood Development Division

The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program is designed to provide decent and affordable housing, provide a suitable living environment and increase economic opportunities for citizens of the City of Valdosta. The Neighborhood Development Division oversees the CDBG funds and programs that include First Time Homebuyer Education and Down Payment Assistance Programs, Southern Hospitality Group Workcamp, and Single Unit Housing Rehabilitation Program. Dream Valdosta Homeownership workshops and classes are offered each month throughout the year, provided by the City of Valdosta, the Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA). Georgia Dream Program and various DCA certified agencies throughout the Community. Down payment assistance is available for qualified First Time Homebuyers.
