July 20: The City of Valdosta will host a Public Open House on Tuesday, July 20, from 5-8 p.m., in the City Hall Annex foyer (at 300 N. Lee Street). The purpose of the meeting is to present concepts and obtain public input for two primary Gateway Corridors into the city and the Downtown Business District: the W. Hill Avenue corridor from the western limits of the I-75 Exit 16 Interchange to downtown and the Madison Highway corridor from the entrance of the Valdosta Regional Airport to Patterson Street. July 20: The Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) will host a Public Open House on Tuesday, July 20, from 3 to 8 p.m., at the City Hall Annex Multi-Purpose Room (at 300 N. July 22: Mayor John J. Fretti and members of the City Council invite and encourage citizens to attend City Council meetings whenever possible, because good government depends on the interest and involvement of citizens. A City Council meeting will take place Thursday, July 22, beginning at 5:30 p.m., in the second floor council chambers of City Hall. City Hall is located at 216 E. July 24: A Historic Valdosta Tour will begin at the Lowndes County Museum, on Saturday, July 24, at 2 p.m. This event will showcase the historic beauty of Valdosta and is taking place as part of the sesquicentennial calendar of events celebrating the city’s 150th.
