June 1: See the newest episode of City Focus on Metro Valdosta Channel 17, which features a “Break the Silence” interview with VFD Commander Eugene Bell. Be the first to hear the “Break the Silence” song, written and sung by VFD Detective Sabrina Smith. You can catch the show weekdays at 7 a.m., noon, 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. and on the weekends at 7 a.m., noon, and 7 p.m., in addition to other information. Tune into Metro Valdosta 17 for your city news.

June 7: Voting begins for the City of Valdosta 2010 People’s Choice Photo Contest at the Annette Howell Turner Center for the Arts. Vote for the best in four categories and a best overall from the 128 entries received in this year’s contest.
