Volunteer and Educational Opportunities

Curb Marker Program

The City partners with organizations to place curb markers on storm drains that read "No Dumping… Drains to Stream" and distribute door hangers with the curb marker logo on it. The door hangers describe the problems with pollutants being dumped into storm drains and provide ways that to help reduce non-point source pollution. All materials needed for a curb marker community event are free.

Enviroscape Model

The EnviroScape Model is a unique, interactive learning tool that helps people make a visual connection between land use and water quality. This is an excellent and fun way to engage and educate school children.

Community Cleanups

Each year the City of Valdosta partners with various organizations on events such as Great American Cleanup, Make A Difference Day, and Rivers Alive cleanup. Each of these events allow volunteers to give back to our community while protecting the environment.

To set up an event, schedule a presentation, or learn more about community cleanup events, please contact the Stormwater Manager at 229-259-3530 or send an email to the Stormwater Division.
