Message from Acting Fire Chief Marcus Haynes

Welcome to the Valdosta Fire Department. It is a privilege to serve the citizens and visitors of this remarkable community. Valdosta continues to uphold its reputation as the regional hub for South Georgia and North Florida, and it remains an outstanding place to live, work, and grow.

The Valdosta Fire Department is proud to maintain an ISO Class 1 rating, the highest designation recognized nationwide. Our department provides Fire, Rescue, Emergency Medical Services, and Hazardous Materials response. I am honored to work alongside dedicated men and women who represent some of the most highly trained and service-minded professionals in the fire service. Their commitment to excellence reflects our mission to deliver efficient, effective, and compassionate service during every call for help.

We are equally committed to strong partnerships with residents, businesses, and community stakeholders. Through public education, fire prevention, and code enforcement, we work each day to enhance awareness, reduce risks, and support a safer community for all.
