Overview

The City of Valdosta Engineering Department is accepting applications for a highly motivated individual for a supervisor position. This position

  • Prioritizes and plans storm sewer repair and maintenance
  • Assigns work projects and ensures the availability of necessary tools and equipment
  • Supervises the installation and expansion of the sewer system
  • Completes required reports
  • Reviews work performed for compliance with standards and specifications
  • Responds to complaints and concerns from customers
  • Assists in the work of other city departments as needed
  • Supervises the use and maintenance of assigned tools and equipment
  • Performs related duties

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of stormwater system maintenance principles; state and local stormwater regulations; the Georgia Stormwater Management Manual; work safety methods; and vehicle and equipment maintenance principles.
  • Skill in the supervision of personnel; the operation of a variety of job-related equipment; preparation of a variety of reports; and oral and written communication
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 1-3 years of experience in a related position
  • Possession of valid driver’s license for the type of vehicles/equipment operated.
