9/11 Memorial 5k

On September 9, 2023, Valdosta Fire Department will hold its 3rd annual 9/11 5k Memorial Run in remembrance of the events that transpired on September 11, 2001. The event is meant to pay homage to those who lost their lives or the lives of loved ones and to acknowledge all the brave first responders who passed in the line of duty. The race will have a patriotic theme, and the Fire Department encourages community members to show their support by lining the racecourse with decorated signs and/or costumes.
At 7:45 am Mayor Matheson will give a speech, and the race will begin promptly at 8 am. The race will take place in Downtown Valdosta and will start on Patterson Street.
