Building Construction Codes

The main purpose of building codes is to protect public health, safety and general welfare as they relate to the construction and occupancy of buildings and structures. Building codes are sets of regulations governing the design, construction, alteration and maintenance of structures. The City of Valdosta and Lowndes County operate under the latest (Mandatory) code editions adopted by the Georgia Department of Community Affairs.
