Brown Bag Concert Returns to Unity Park for Georgia Cities Week

The City of Valdosta invites the community to celebrate Georgia Cities Week with the return of the Brown Bag Concert on Friday, April 24, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Unity Park Amphitheater, located at 301 E. Central Ave.

This event offers residents, employees, and visitors a chance to enjoy live music, great food, and a relaxing midday break in the heart of downtown. This year’s concert will feature live entertainment by Khemistry 229, bringing an energetic and vibrant sound to the stage.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lunch and lawn chairs; however, local food vendors will also be on site, including Kona Ice, Taste by W4K LLC, and Smokin Like A 57 Chevy BBQ & Catering, offering convenient and delicious options for purchase.

The Brown Bag Concert is part of the City’s Georgia Cities Week celebration, highlighting community connection, local culture, and the value of public spaces.

“Georgia Cities Week is about celebrating the people, partnerships, and everyday moments that make our city special,” said Public Information Officer Sharah Denton. “Events like the Brown Bag Concert create space for our community to come together, connect, and enjoy Valdosta in a way that feels welcoming and authentic.”

“Brown Bag Concerts are one of my favorite ways to bring energy into downtown during the workday,” said Main Street Manager Patrick Pearson. “It’s a chance for people to step outside, enjoy live music, support local food vendors, and experience the vibrancy of our downtown community.”

Whether you’re taking a lunch break or planning to stay for the full concert, the City invites everyone to join in the celebration.
