City of Valdosta Invites Community to Coffee with the Chiefs at GUD Coffee
The City of Valdosta invites residents to join Acting Fire Chief Marcus Haynes and Police Chief Leslie Manahan for Coffee with the Chiefs on Wednesday, February 25, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at GUD Coffee, located at 133 N. Patterson Street in downtown Valdosta.
This informal meet-and-greet provides citizens with an opportunity to connect directly with public safety leadership, ask questions, share concerns, and engage in meaningful conversation about the work of the Valdosta Fire Department and Valdosta Police Department.
“As I step into this role as Acting Fire Chief, I’m especially grateful for opportunities like Coffee with the Chiefs,” said Acting Fire Chief Marcus Haynes. “This event represents an important tradition of connection and transparency between public safety leadership and the community we serve. I look forward to meeting residents, listening to their perspectives, and continuing to build trust together.”
Police Chief Leslie Manahan added, “Coffee with the Chiefs is one of my favorite ways to connect with our community outside of an emergency or formal setting. It gives us the chance to sit down, listen, and have genuine conversations about what matters most to our residents. Building trust starts with being present, approachable, and willing to hear one another. I look forward to seeing familiar faces and meeting new ones as we continue working together to keep Valdosta safe.”
The event is free and open to the public. No formal program is scheduled, citizens are welcome to drop in, meet the Chiefs, and enjoy a relaxed atmosphere in the heart of downtown Valdosta.
