Valdosta Main Street & Central Valdosta Development Authority Bring Back First Fridays—Starting May 1

One of downtown’s favorite traditions is back. Valdosta Main Street and the Central Valdosta Development Authority are proud to announce the return of First Fridays, kicking off this Friday, May 1, from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. in downtown Valdosta.

The last First Friday was held in 2024, and its return marks a renewed focus on creating a consistent, high-energy experience that supports local businesses and brings the community together.

Guests can stroll through downtown enjoying drinks from participating establishments, with 14 places to eat and drink offering a wide variety of options—from casual bites to full-service dining. Many locations will feature happy hour specials, expanded outdoor seating, and special promotions throughout the evening.

Adding to the street-side flavor, a trio of popular food trucks will be on-site serving up crowd favorites throughout the event. Rico’s Tacos will dish out authentic street tacos and bold flavors, Blazin’ Hog brings slow-smoked barbecue with all the fixings, and Sunshine Natural Juices offers refreshing, made-to-order juices and healthy options—perfect for a warm spring evening downtown.

Live music will be provided by regional favorite Crossfire Blues Band, performing from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. and bringing a lively soundtrack to the streets. Jarrod Brogdon will be performing at The Watering Hole from 6:30 – 9:00 p.m.

“This is something the community has been asking for,” said Patrick Pearson, Valdosta Main Street Manager. “First Fridays creates a reason to come downtown—not just for an event, but for an experience. With great food, drinks, music, and an inviting atmosphere, it’s about building momentum and making downtown a go-to destination.”

The event takes place within downtown’s designated entertainment district, allowing for open container enjoyment as guests explore shops, restaurants, and bars.
