NOTICE OF PROPERTY TAX INCREASE

The City of Valdosta has tentatively adopted a 2026 millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by 30.39%

All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearing on this tax increase to be held at the City Hall Building, 216 E. Central Ave, Valdosta, Ga on August 20, 2026 at 11:00 am and 6:00pm.

Times and places of additional public hearings on this tax increase are at the City Hall Building, 216 E Central Ave, Valdosta, Ga on August 27, 2026 at 6:00pm.

This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 7.997, an increase of 1.864. Without this tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 6.133. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $300,000 is approximately $196.42 and the proposed tax increase for non- homestead property with a fair market value of $300,000 is approximately $206.76.
