The City Clerk’s office provides information pertaining to Ordinances, Resolutions, City Council Agendas and Minutes, Municipal Code, Elections, Open Records, Authorities, Boards, Commissions, and Advisory Committees, official custodian of the City seal to be affixed to legal documents upon request, and provide notary public services for City legal requirements, contracts, and agreements.
Teresa S. Bolden, CMC
Teresa Bolden has been working in municipal government since 2002. After completing intensive course instruction and testing, Teresa attained the Georgia Certified Municipal Clerk Certification through the University of Georgia Carl Vinson Institute of Government (CVIOG) in 2005. In addition, Teresa obtained the Clerks Masters Education Management Development Certification through CVIOG in 2017 after completing 60 hours of coursework and instruction as well as fulfilling the project requirements. Teresa has also achieved the Certified Municipal Clerk designation through the International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC) in 2012.
Teresa has been a member of the International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC) and the Georgia Municipal Clerks & Finance Officers Association (GMC/FOA) since 2002. She served two terms as the District 11 Director for the Georgia Municipal Clerks & Finance Officers Association (GMC/FOA) and served as President of the Association from 2014-2015. She was also selected as the 2011 Georgia Municipal Clerk of the Year for the GMC/FOA. Other Committees that Teresa has served on include the Georgia Municipal Association's (GMA) Board of Directors, the GMA Legislative Policy Committee, and the GMA Membership Services Advisory Committee from 2014-2015. Teresa attended Georgia Southwestern College in Americus, Georgia where she obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Education.

Associate City Clerk
As the associate city clerk, Marzell helps provide information pertaining to Ordinances, Resolutions, City Council Agendas and Minutes, Municipal Code, Elections, Open Records, Authorities, Boards, Commissions, and Advisory Committees. Marzell joined the city from a position as an intern at the Southern Georgia Regional Commission in the Transportation Department. While working there Marzell developed customer service and technology skills. She was also able to learn about South Georgia and make connections in 18 different counties. Marzell holds a Bachelors degree in Communications from Paine College in Augusta and is currently on her second year of a Master’s program at Southern New Hampshire University studying Public Administration. Marzell grew up in Louisiana, her family moved to Georgia to McDonough in 2003. Marzell uses her experience from working with different cities and counties across South Georgia at the Regional Commission to help meet the needs of Valdosta residents.
