Valdosta Fire Department 9/11 5K Walk/Run

On September 10th, 2022 Valdosta Fire Department will hold their 2nd annual 9/11 5k Memorial Run in remembrance of the events that transpired on September 11, 2001. The event is meant to pay homage to those who lost their lives or the lives of loved ones and to acknowledge all the brave first responders who passed in the line of duty.  The race will have a patriotic theme, and the Fire Department encourages community members to show their support by lining the racecourse with decorated signs and/or costumes.

At 7:45 am Mayor Matheson will give a speech and the race will begin promptly at 8am. The race will take place in Downtown Valdosta and will start on Patterson Street.

As a symbol of those that were called to action that day, all first responders will run free, provided they run in full gear/uniform. First responders IN GEAR, please call email Sgt. Roe at mroe@valdostacity.com
